Boeing Expanding In Charleston- Positive News for Housing
Boeing has announced that they have acquired more land and will be constructing a 230,000 sq. ft. plant to paint their 787 Dreamliners that are built at the North Charleston Plant. The facility should be operational in mid 2016. In addition, Boeing announced Thursday that it will be adding 300-400 employees at its North Charleston campus in their new engineering center. These positions are being shifted from Seattle and Southern California.
Earlier this year, the firm announced that it will be investing over $1.1 Billion and creating 2,000 additional jobs in South Carolina. Coupled with other major employer expansion announcements the Charleston Housing Market should continue to bode well in 2014 and 2015.
