Headquarters Island is our personal home community and it is a unique and highly desirable location for those who are looking for the very best of Charleston. Located on the Stono River Intracoastal Waterway and the expansive scenic marshes that border the waterway, Headquarters Island is a short 5 mile or 15 minute drive from Historic
Downtown Charleston and 20 minutes each from Kiawah Island and Folly Beach. While Headquarters Island is considered part of Johns Island it is indeed its own island. It is accessed from Maybank Highway by an entry road that is literally on the Stono River Bridge that connects James and Johns Island.
Headquarters Island features two communities.
Headquarters Plantation is a gated community of fine homes, most of which are either on the Stono River with deep water docks, on the marsh or on a unique and lovely salt water tidal lagoon. Home prices range from the $400,000′s to over $1.5 Million. It features large lots and expansive views. Homes are of the Low Country style that is such a part of the Charleston coastal settings. This is where we call home.
Stono Watch is a small enclave of townhomes that are all either on the marsh with Stono River views or on a very nice small pond with surrounding woods. These townhomes are raised on pilings and are primarily 3 bedrooms and 3 baths with prices starting in the $200,000′s. The neighborhood enjoys a community pool.
Headquarters Island is also home to the Saint Johns Yacht Harbor and Marina, a full service marina on the Stono River Intracoastal Waterway that offers both long term and transient dockage. As well as a marina club with restaurant, bar and swimming pool.
