My Favorite Mt. Pleasant SC Happy Hour Spots
After a day at the office there is nothing better than stopping at one of the many spots in Mount Pleasant for Happy Hour. While there are so many places to go, here are just a few of my favorites (you can click on the name of each to go to their website) :
Waters Edge- It's tough to find a more relaxed outdoor atmosphere and it is right on Shem Creek! Beers are only $1.50 and the bar appetizer menu is half-price. Not too mention, it is only 3 blocks from the office! There is a good mixed age crowd here from young to old, and you can walk the Shem Creek Dock to see the scenery and shrimp boats. Our charter fishing boat The Reel Interest will be docked there starting July 1st, so expect to see Capt. Steve there too much....
Finz- Just a driver or 3 wood from Shem Creek, Finz is an interesting place that is owned and operated by a fellow fishing Captain. The bar is decorated in a fishing boat theme, and the food is great (try the tuna tacos!). They have a different special every day, check it out.
Shem Creek Bar and Grill- It's all about the raw oyster bar! This is a seafood joint that has very good food and an interesting atmosphere. There are multiple dining areas, but when the weather is right being at the outside bar on the dock is wonderful. You can also sit at the back bar and enjoy freshly shucked oysters. Beer is generally a $1 off and there is a happy hour menu.
Reds Ice House- Another Shemcreek institution. They have a different happy hour special every day, so check out their site. Tends to be a bit younger crowd, but you will find all ages. They also have several nights of live music.
it is time to get off Coleman Boulevard and Shem Creek- because there are soooo many other good places too!
Liberty Tap Room and Grill- Oh my god the nachos and hamburgers are to die for! An outrageous selection of beers including their own drafts. This is a place that you will enjoy for a casual dinner and doubles as a good sports bar.
Post House Tavern- Moving a bit upscale into the Old Village of Mt. Pleasant, this place has a little older crowd (does not mean that almost old guys like me don't go there!) and really good hamburgers! Plus you will find them on the Happy Hour menu a couple of night a week. Beer, liquor and wines are at reduced prices and there is a different menu each night.
Dog and Duck- Wings, wings and wings! I think they are the best wings around, especially the double dunked. $1 off beer, specials on drinks and a happy hour menu that varies.
So there you have my favorite Happy Hour spots in Mt. Pleasant. But lest you forget, there are so many other great Happy Hour spots in the City of Charleston, Sullivan's Island, West Ashley, James Island....................
